One run was the difference at Camden Yards as the Baltimore Orioles defeated
the Texas Rangers 5 to 4.

The deciding run was scored by Baltimore in the bottom of the 8th with the score tied at 4. Brooks Robinson lined a base-hit. After a strikeout and advancing groundout, George Sisler came up and he lined a single (his third hit of the day), scoring pinch runner Brady Anderson. Texas threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Dave McNally(1-0) got the win allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Stu Miller earned
the save, his 1st. Dick Bosman(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.
