Satchel Paige took a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Edison Int'l Field as
the Cleveland Indians beat the Anaheim Angels 9 to 2.

Kenny Lofton was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine
day at their team's expense. He laced a base-knock in the 1st inning,
doubled resulting in a run in the 5th inning and launched a Grand Slam
homerun in the 6th inning. Cleveland had 9 hits overall, while Anaheim had

Paige(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Satch lost his chance for a no-hitter when Jim Fregosi singled with one out
in the 6th inning. He took the shutout into the ninth before Wally Joyner hit a two run homer to account for all of the Angels runs.
