Brian Roberts had 4 hits and Mike Cuellar completed the game without help from
the bullpen at Camden Yards where the Baltimore Orioles beat the Texas
Rangers in 10 innings by the score of 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Baltimore won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning. Frank Robinson laced a base-hit. Merv
Rettenmund stepped into the batter's box and he slapped a single, advancing F. Robby to third. Rettenmund took second on the throw. Chris Hoiles then was walked intentionally to set up a play at any base. Nick Markakis came up and he banged out a single off the glove of Dean Palmer to make Baltimore the victor and start a joyous home town celebration. Baltimore had a total of 12 hits for the game.

Cuellar(1-0) allowed 4 runs on the game, all in the eighth inning after being staked to a 4-0 lead. Mark Teixeira continued his hot hitting, driving in two to tie the game at 4-4 with an 8th inning single, which bailed out Rangers starter Kevin Brown.

Darold Knowles(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.
