Jim Edmonds had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Dean Chance was on top of his game,
blanking Cleveland on just 3 hits at Edison Int'l Field as the Anaheim Angels
beat the Cleveland Indians 8 to 0.
Edmonds provided much of the offense. He slapped a base-hit in the 1st
inning, tripled in the 4th inning, cracked a solo homerun in the 6th inning
and delivered a single scoring a run in the 7th inning. Troy Glaus added his first home run and drove in three runs. Anaheim rapped out 14 hits for the night, with five Angels garnering at least two hits each.
Chance(1-0) was credited with the shutout. Bob Feller(0-1) was given the loss.
He was knocked around by Anaheim, allowing 12 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings.
