Left fielder Luis Gonzalez smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Arizona
Dismondbacks outscored the San Francisco Giants 6 to 4.

Arizona erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs using
3 hits. Orlando Hudson opened up the inning nicely when he doubled. After
an out was recorded, Eric Byrnes came to the plate and cracked a two-run
shot to left. Jay Bell then laced a single. Gonzalez, who had hit two run homers in the third and eighth innings to carry the offense for the D-Backs up until the ninth, was up next but he grounded into a double play. Arizona finished with 11 hits in the victory.

Oscar Villarreal(1-0) went 2 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory.
Villarreal got relief help from Byung-Hyun Kim who gained credit for his 2nd
save. The losing pitcher was Carl Hubbell(0-1). He served up 3 homeruns in
