In an great finish the Los Angeles Dodgers won in dramatic fashion over the
San Diego Padres by a score of 7 to 6 at Dodger Stadium.

Los Angeles won the game with a rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs on 2 solo homers. Adrian Beltre was the sparkplug when he ripped a solo home run (his second of the year) off Heath Bell to lead off the inning. After Duke Snider and Roy Campanella were set down on strikes by Trevor Hoffman, Babe Herman was up next and he delivered a solo blast (also his second of the young season) to finish off the Padres. Los Angeles and San Diego each finished the afternoon with 12 hits.

Jim Brewer(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Hoffman(0-1) was the loser in relief. 'What a win!', Brewer said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in your mind at the end of a season.'
