In a game for the baseball purist, Jack Billingham(1-0) and Steve Rogers(0-1)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, the Cincinnati Reds finally emerged
victorious over the Washington Nationals, 2 to 0.
Cincinnati took the lead for good in the 4th inning scoring one runner.
Cincinnati finished with just 5 hits in the victory, the Nats had 7 but hit into 3 double plays, including Bob Bailey with the tying runs aboard to end the game.
Billingham got relief help from 3 other pitchers, topped off by Randy Myers who gained credit for his 1st save.
